Wedding Dress – FAQ’s
When should I start looking for my wedding dress?
We recommend a minimum of 9-12 months. You need to allow time for the gown to be ordered and then allow time for alterations to be completed.
How long does it take to order a wedding dress?
This depends on which designer/label, as they all have different ordering times. Some designers can take up to 6 months, hence why we recommend you start shopping and order your dress 9-12 months prior to your event date.
My wedding date is only in 6 weeks, can you help me?
Yes! We do have some options for brides who have left it too late to order new wedding dresses. We have samples off the rack we sell and we also have rush order options. Best to come in and talk to us.
How do I know what size wedding dress to order?
Each designer has their own sizing/size chart. Therefore, we measure your bust, waist & hip and order the right size closest to your measurements. Please note, when purchasing sizes off the rack, fittings/alterations will need to be completed once the dress arrives, these costs are extra.
I want to lose weight before the wedding, how do I know what size to order?
It really depends how much weight you intend on losing. What we can recommend is ordering the size you are now and then have the dress taken in, if there is a weight loss. Keep in mind, if you order a smaller size than what you currently are at time of ordering, you are putting yourself under a lot of pressure – something which we don’t necessarily recommend.
Are alterations included in the cost of my wedding dress?
No. Alterations are a separate expense.
I love this dress, but I wish it had different sleeves?
We can make changes to all our gowns. Feel free to discuss with us what you are looking for and we can work out the best solution, so you can have the dress of your dreams!
What if I lose weight or gain weight before my dress arrives?
Whether a weight loss or weight gain, this can be tricky. Especially if the dress has already been altered or you are very close to your wedding date. If it is a lace up gown you will have a easier time, but if it has a zip, that can be tricky. With that said, anything is possible, but please expect to pay for additional alterations.
Do you complete the alterations?
No. We have a recommend alteration lady that we send you too.
How much do I have to pay to order my wedding dress?
We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to order your wedding dress. The balance can either than be paid off in instalments or in full when the dress arrives.
I have ordered my dress, but I have changed my mind can I get a refund?
No. Once orders are placed, the 50% deposit, is non-refundable. This is due to the order being specifically for you.
I have ordered my dress, but the wedding is cancelled. What do I do?
Unfortunately, once your order is placed, we can not cancel your order with the designer. You can either choose to still collect your dress and pay for it in full OR you can cancel your order with us, but your 50% deposit is forfeited.
